DIFFERENT THEN EXPECTED

Andrew L. The house is undoubtedly one of the more beautiful houses I’ve ever rented in Deer Valley. However it had some flaws with the design, amenities, and functionality.
Pros:
Modern House
Walking Distance to Main Street
Close to Snow Park Lodge (Too far to walk)
Comfy Beds
Working Kitchen
Hot tub
Rooftop patio accessible from master bedroom
Cons:
No television service which was very bothersome. They had a chrome cast system which it’s impossible to watch live TV with and wasn’t reliable
The pans in the kitchen needed extra washing
The master bathroom doesn’t have a wall/door giving it privacy from the master bedroom which was a bit awkward
The garage wasn’t big enough to fit a car in, but we were able to fit a car by making a sharp turn to the right
Bedrooms are a bit on the small size but they were still functional

SKI TRIP

Before getting into the details, I just need to say that Turnkey Vacation Rentals has amazing customer service. When we arrived, the power to the home was not working, so I had to reach out to Turnkey. They were extremely responsive and notified me that there was an outage in the area so it was not a problem with the home. Even though it was not the home, Turnkey did provide a partial refund for the inconvenience which was awesome. As for the home itself, I wasn't very happy with the description online versus what I actually experienced. The description says the home sleeps 8. That's not accurate. It sleeps 4 adults and 4 children given the size of the beds. Additionally, a futon should not count. The house looks like it has recently been flipped and is on the market to be sold so there are no linens to be used on the futon or the pull out sofa bed. The kitchen lacked needed appliances and cooking utensils. When renting a home for a ski trip, you want it to be a home, not just a place to sleep. The technology on the television was not explained correctly and we were not able to connect to the Chrome Cast. Luckily we were able to plug in a laptop and watch TV that way. The location made up for a lot of the issues. Less than 5 min away from downtown Park City and a ski lift. All in all, we made due and it was a nice stay. The sleeping situation was the only major complaint. If this unit is to stay as a rental, they need to setup their game in that area.

GREAT LOCATION, BEAUTIFUL HOME!

Katie K. This a beautiful home with a great location! We are a family of 5. There was enough room for us all. It’s not a huge home but just the right size for us. The home was tastefully decorated. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook with. The hot tub is located right off the main living floor, so it was SUPER easy to access. We used it everyday, sometimes twice a day. The home and hot tub were VERY clean! The location is perfect. We didn’t want to stay off the Main Street so to avoid the traffic. This home is located literally an easy 2 minute drive to Old Downtown Main Street and 5 minutes to Park City Ski Resort Village. It snowed everyday and they had a service that would come by and shovel. They provided salt if we needed to lay any out.
The only “somewhat” negative is that they do not have cable, just standard local stations. If you want to watch shows or a movie you need to get Google Chromecast app. We were never able to get it to work. Assuming because of weak signal due to mountains. Would be better to just get a smart TV so people can just access their own accounts like , Prime, Netflix etc.
I would definitely recommend staying at this lovely home!

DEER VALLEY SKI TRIP

January 2020

We rented this place for a family ski trip to Deer Valley. Park City is a must visit with great skiing, incredible restaurants, and high end shopping. We were able to enjoy all of those three attributes during our stay.

The accommodations of the rental were solid and the location (almost walking distance to Main Street) were awesome. The biggest negatives were that they didn't have cable TV (only a few local channels and AMC for some reason) and no microwave. Further, the beds were like sleeping on on blow up mattresses. However, the decor, location, hot tub, and overall layout of the unit were great. Perfect for my family of five.

Lastly, the property management folks at TurnKey could not have been more rude when I spoke to them on the phone. I asked if I could leave my luggage in the garage for an extra 2 hours after the 10am checkout. So that we didn't leave it in our car while we skied our last day. They told me I could rent the house for an extra day, but wouldn't even consider letting me leave my luggage there for just an extra two hours. My frustration isn't about having such a firm rule about check-out, it's the fact that no one else was renting the place the next day and treating me like a POS for asking about it.
