Owl's Drift is located in the beautiful seaside village of Camden. It sits snugly on Pleasant Street, one of Camden's quaint tree-lined side streets. Truly an in-town retreat with private gardens and a courtyard bounded by evergreens — guests may never suspect the village is just a five-minute walk away, complete with shops, restaurants, cultural events, and the beautiful waterfront and windjammers the town is famous for.Recently completed is a restoration of the attached barn which is now a seasonal and completely unique addition to the house. Keeping the rustic charm of the barn, this space is now a library, an entertaining room, game room — truly multipurpose with doors out to the English gardens. Upstairs find a king bed and 2 twins in the upstairs loft — this is a great place for sleeping in warmer weather!Owl's Drift can sleep a total of 8 in three bedrooms and has three full bathrooms. As comfortable for 2 as it is for 8, Owl's Drift is a well-appointed, year-round retreat.Built in 1832, Owl's Drift was completely renovated in 2010–2011 by local master craftsman Gregory Moore. Preserving the historical detail of the house was paramount and yet modern conveniences, necessities, and luxuries were cleverly incorporated. Owl's Drift truly embraces the old and the new.On the first floor, a sunny, well-equipped, custom kitchen is finished with beautiful granite countertops, a gas stove, a slate apron sink, dishwasher and a dining alcove. The kitchen opens into a living room accented original Parson's Cupboards above the mantel. Truly comfortable furnishings complete this room perfectly. A relaxed den off the living room offers a flat-screen television with cable, high speed Internet connection. One of the Owl's Drift's two master bedrooms is on the first floor. Known as the Yellow Room, this comfortably furnished room offers a queen-sized, four-poster bed. The fully renovated bathroom has been customized with a Greek soaking tub. This floor's second bathroom is outfitted with a custom standup shower and also contains the laundry room.Upstairs find the Elephant Room, Owl's Drift's second queen-bedded master. This bedroom is spacious, made cozy with drawers built into the eaves and custom-designed bookshelves tucked into the corners. Down the hall find the third bathroom complete with a claw-foot porcelain tub.Tucked in the eaves at the back of the house is the Red Room; a darling room with 4 twin beds. The property has recently seen the complete renovation of the attached post and beam barn. Melissa B. We had a wonderful time at Owl’s Drift and would gladly return! It’s right in Camden, but has a country house atmosphere. We seldom used the car because it was so easy to walk to restaurants and shops.

October 2020

The house is lovely. The only negative is there is only one real standing shower and the other bathrooms have tubs with hand held showers. This should be made more clean in the house description as I'm glad it was only 4 of us sharing the same shower. SummerMaine should have done a better job prepping the house for our arrival:
1) Welcome Book with wifi code and other info was buried under some cookbooks and not easy to find. Should have been on the kitchen counter clearly visible when we arrived.
2) Wifi code in the Welcome Book was incorrect and had not been updated. Really?
3) SummerMaine should have checked all the exterior and interior lights to make sure they work working as several critical outdoor ones were not.
4) There are many different light bulb types for the indoor light fixtures and spares were not available.
5) The outdoor area should be better maintained and cleaned prior to our arrival.
