April 2018

This is my 2nd time at this property. I went to another property last year but I love this one so much better. My satisfaction with the property is great, I will def return here. One thing I would address is the staff at the Acme office however. I paid extra to check in at 12;00 pm. A couple of weeks prior to I sent an email ensuring that this early time would not set off the alarm and that they had it noted in their system. We arrived early and went an got groceries and sat in the car from 1145 -1200 outside the property as check in was 1200. At 1200 I went to the door and the code I was given wouldn’t open it. I called them and the first time it said they were closed. I called back and explained my situation to the man who answered, he pulled it up and said you don’t check in till 3:00 I explained the extra $$. He said he’d have to transfer me to reservations so he did, machine picked up and said they were closed. I called back and talked to the first guy and explained and he laughed and said, well I can hear them so I know they are there. I asked him if he heard them could he just get up and go talk to them then? He said well it was upstairs. He transferred me again and a man picked up, I explained my situation again and he said ‘oh, well it’s only 12:08?!’ I was extremely frustrated as true it being only 10 minutes later, but I paid for 1200. I paid for a stress free entrance to my vacation. Your customers are paying for a great experience, and expect a normal experience. The concierge was nice, no problem with that. So I would def say YES to the house, but I would def say NO to the office. Ironically, you are not important to them and you are on their watch even through you are dropping a lot of money and in some cases extra.

Erik P. I’ll start with my biggest issue – the lack of privacy. I asked before booking, “Is the back yard 100% private?” I was told that it was. It is not. Next door is what looks like a junk yard and there were lots of people over there with easy sight lines into the yard. I was later told that it’s a “botanical garden” that’s open to the public. I’d call the yard semi-private at best. This was a major disappointment and I felt I’d been misled.

The pool is quite small, but nice and the spa is spacious. On the 1st day the spa took a long time to heat up. On day 2 it wouldn’t heat at all so we called ACME. They were very responsive and sent someone over right away. His explanation of the problem didn’t make any sense to me, but he got it running so I didn’t care. On day 3 it wouldn’t heat again so we had to call them back. This time he confirmed the heater was not working at all and called the pool service guys. They arrived about an hour or so later and were there for a couple of hours. It was nice that everyone was so responsive, but the main reason we go to Palm Springs is to relax in solitude. Between the lack of privacy and the pool service people being there, our primary reasons for being there were significantly compromised.

The house is nice, but some very poor choices were made with regards to the bathroom sinks and faucets. They look good but are totally dysfunctional. There is also a need for more window coverings in the master bedroom. There are clerestory windows with no shades on them. By 6am, the bedroom was in full bright daylight. When on vacation, this is far from ideal.

This property has potential. A taller fence, some new sinks, and a creative window covering solution is about all it would take. But because we were misled regarding the privacy and had to deal with multiple phone calls and visits with the rental company and pool service, I’m left feeling like we were partially robbed of the perfect Palm Springs vacation we had
