July 2020

Overall, we had a good stay. However, we lost a full night of real use -- and everyone that rents this property should know it appears the owners are continuing to make updates which may mean it will not exactly mirror the photos unless they keep updating them and the description. We rented this cottage, in part, because it had an orange room and that was my kiddos favorite color. He chose this cabin. There is no orange room. That was a major source of disappointment. There are also no shades or window coverings on hardly any of the windows which means you need to be prepared for the blinding sun coming through in to the bedroom, living room, etc. A number of small items are broken, but worse - there were stains and marks all over the bedding as it WAS NOT washed prior to our stay. I strongly encourage you know what you're getting and be prepared to do a deep clean yourself (cob-webs, insects, bedding/towels, etc.) when you arrive. If you do, I'm sure you'll have a great time. The decks are plentiful and the views and peace and quiet is wonderful. Management company is amazingly responsive while in your rental, but sadly unresponsive via email despite multiple attempts.

Robert S. It was clean and had a great view. The problems for us were the smart tv only worked the first night. After that it wouldn't connect to the wifi and the one upstairs didn't work at all. We text the management company, they replied 30 minutes later with "what is the access code". The response didn't even make any sense. Lastly, only one from our party could use the wifi. nobody else could connect. Bottom line we didn't get what we paid for and that was upsetting.

Samiha A. It was very easy to get to the cabin, parking was a little awkward but easy enough to do. The view was especially nice in the early morning for the sunrise while the mist rose up around the trees. The bedrooms were very nice, the bathrooms were clean but a little nerve wracking for showers since there were no curtains but the view was worth it.

As soon as you walk in, there are stairs facing the doors, there's a dining area to the left with a small balcony and door, a living area with a large TV (Netflix and Hulu available, child lock on them), a small but fully outfitted kitchen, a great deck off the kitchen with a fire pit under the deck. Upstairs was a little disorienting since the doors all covered each other but once you're past that, it was good. Both bedrooms had a great view, the master was better (obviously) and the bathrooms were amazing!

The main problem we had were cleanliness/upkeep. There were broken closet doors (one suddenly fell on the master bed and nearly hit us), the closet doors were also damaged in the guest room. There were lots of cobwebs in the vaulted ceilings and dead water bugs in several areas. The refrigerator was left open so it was not cold enough for the food to go in when we got there.

The rental company was very easy to get in touch with and they offered to come by and do a secondary clean while we were there, but we declined since we were staying for such a short time - if it was going to be several days then we would have taken them up on it.

If you are squeamish around bugs or nature in general (bees, flies, mosquitoes, etc) then this may not be the place for you. We left the doors open nearly the whole day and had all kinds of wildlife come in/out (I mean, it is a cabin). Would recommend for a weekend trip. We stayed in the whole time because of COVID so it was a nice get away. Important!!: Water takes a lot of time to heat up.
