CARRINGTON HOUSE

Amanda R. The property and house were absolutely beautiful. I would recommend staying here based on location, size of house and style. The beds were comfy and the yard was beautiful overlooking part of the city.

My complaints are more so with the management company, which switched between when I booked and when I arrived for my stay. We asked for an early check-in and the access code did not work when we arrived. I had to call numerous times and did not hear back until 2 hours later. Next there were supposed to be 12 towels, one for each quest and we were not given enough. Communication went back and forth with me and the new management company who said we can only give you 12, but then never came to provide us the full amount of towels so my girls had to share towels the whole weekend. Coffee was stated to be provided, but they were whole beans and no grinder was provided. Half of the lounge chairs outside were also broken.

The house is beautiful and I hope the new management gets it together so guests can have a nice and relaxing stay. Thanks!!

GREAT FOR A BIG GROUP

Nothing fancy, and a bit further away from the action than we would have preferred (which we knew going in), but overall a great, reasonably-priced space for a big group, especially if you want to be close to UT. Having so many beds and bathrooms was very convenient, and the common area was comfortable. We found things to be very clean. Emails and texts with information were helpful leading up to our visit, and finding the property and checking in were all smooth. Thanks!

LARGE, COMFORTABLE HOUSE; GREAT LOCATION

Jane F. I met my sisters, daughters, sisters-in-law and some nieces in Austin to celebrate my 70th birthday. The Carrington House was perfect - very large (5 bedrooms and bathrooms) comfortable and well-equipped. I was a little worried that it was too close to a busy street (MLK Blvd), but that was not an issue at all - we could not see the road and could barely hear it. The neighborhood is very nice.

The house is within a mile or two of downtown Austin, Zilker Park, good restaurants on Lamar, Whole Foods, etc. However, it is really not close enough to walk to most of those places, so you do need car(s) or plan to use Uber/Lyft/taxis.

My only complaint was that when one sister and I, who were arriving early, asked if we could rent the place for one additional night for the price we would have paid for a hotel instead of the full rate, the answer was "we don't negotiate on price." Since there is a three night minimum, and the place was not rented within two days of our arrival, that seemed a little rigid.

GREAT LOCATION, GREAT SPACE

Lyn D. This is a lovely, old character home. Everything would have been great except we had no wifi for our entire stay. We did end up receiving a rebate, but it was a huge inconvenience as many of the guests needed to submit work online. The company did respond promptly to a plumbing issue which was greatly appreciated. With wifi fixed I would definitely stay here again.
