Though it is a ground floor level apartment in historic townhouse, this spacious apartment features high 9' ceilings, recessed lighting, exposed brick, light walls, good natural light and a large open kitchen/living room, which gives it a bright and open feeling. All new porcelain wood floors, open full Bosch kitchen and bath with an exposed brick walk in shower, round out the thoughtful details in making this a comfortable and desirable retreat. The bedroom has a large closet and queen bed, and the bathroom is in-between the bedroom and kitchen/ family room, which has a comfortable queen sleeper sofa. This lovely apartment is on Gallery Row (R Street between Connecticut and 21st Street), a stones throw from The Phillips Collection and home to interesting restaurants, cafes, bistros, shops, spas, galleries, museums jazz clubs and parks. A local Market is close by, there are ample cuisine choices on the block and very near by. Great Location for a DC Getaway!

My husband and I loved our stay at this DuPont Circle apartment! The location couldn't be better! Just a block or so away from the Metro, and many restaurants and shops within walking distance. We were able to get everywhere we wanted to go with the Metro.
The apartment itself is so cute, and well kept. The kitchen had every amenity you could need to cook, and a nice sized washer and dryer. While it is obviously an older (historic) building, you can tell that it has been updated and renovated.
We had a great stay here, and would recommend it!

We stayed at this apartment rental during our 2 week vacation in DC and the location was excellent! It’s approximately 3 blocks to the metro, restaurants throughout the neighborhood which was a very safe area. We were walking distance (1-2 miles) to the White House, the national mall, Smithsonian museums, the zoo, and Georgetown. However, many times we chose to take the metro back to the apartment :-).
The apartment itself has a lot of character with all the brick and the size was perfect for the 2 of us. There were a few things in the apartment that needed to be fixed or showed wear-and-tear but nothing that negatively impacted our stay. We had one hiccup with the front door because it would not lock one day when we were trying to leave and it was found that the battery needed to be replaced. I would strongly recommend that the rental be proactive with this and just change the batteries at a specific time because it did cause some exasperation and irritation as we needed to be somewhere at a specific time and we were delayed by about 30-45 minutes mostly due to not being able to make contact with LUXbnb; once we did connect with Charlotte she was able to help immediately. Also, since this is a basement apartment there are only 2 windows (bedroom and living area) so there isn’t much natural light.
Overall I would highly recommend this particular apartment rental when you visit DC!
