DESCRIPTION: We provide a Welcome Guide upon confirmation of your reservation with helpful details about your apartment, neighborhood and Washington to ensure that you get the most out of your stay. AMENITIES: • Driveway parking & garage parking • Linens & towels • WIFI, full cable service • 4 HDTVs • Washer/Dryer in unit • Full kitchen • Patio and deck • Fireplace • 3 levels, 2 bedrooms + family room with sofa bed (& full bath), 3.5 baths Guest review: Patricia, August 2020 This unit is ideally located across the street from a Trader Joes, a block from the metro, and a block from a great children's playground. The bedrooms, which are on the third floor are a little too warm at night but as the weather gets colder that shouldn't be a problem. With a driveway and garage this is a great place for a family to visit DC from. LOCATION: The townhome is southeast of the US Capitol right off Pennsylvania Avenue. Historic Eastern Market (a Capitol Hill institution!) is just 3 blocks away at 7th and C Streets SE. It is the oldest continually operating market in the city and it is the most entertaining shopping experience in the city for fresh provisions. You'll be a few minutes' walk away from the U. S. Capitol Building, Senate and House Office Buildings, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, Smithsonian Museums (11!), the National Mall, Folger Shakespeare Theater and Library, and the Botanical Conservatory. Capitol Hill is one of Washington DC's most historic districts. Pierre L'Enfant described the crest of the hill as 'a pedestal waiting for a monument' and shortly afterward, in 1793, George Washington laid the first cornerstone of the United States Capitol building, which now stands facing the city and the National Mall. Union Station, at the northern end of Capitol Hill, is not only Washington DC's main rail terminal; it is the transportation hub of the greater Washington region and a tourist attraction in its own right for shopping, dining, and its huge, handsome dimensions. TRANSPORTATION: You won't need your car! You are just one block away from the Eastern Market Metro Station on Pennsylvania Avenue which services the Blue and Orange lines. By Metro you are 1 stop from the Capitol South Station and 2 stops from the Smithsonian Station. A Capitol BikeShare rental rack is on the next corner at the metro station. Union Station is just on the north side of the US Capitol Building and is a terminal for AMTRAK, the Metro Red Line, the "Circulator" buses and Metrobus, MARC Trains (Maryland), tour buses for the city and surrounding areas, and buses to New York City. Street parking is available.
