David S. We rented this property based on pics and great reviews. We were sadly disappointed. It started out with arriving about 1030 and it being very dark when we arrived. I would suggest motion sensor lights at the front of the house and by the entry door. When I entered I noticed a very strong smell of moth balls. Apparently moths are very prevalent in the area and eat up bedding, clothes etc. You can accomplish the same thing with cedar which isn't such a offensive smell. I opened up the windows and the smell went away but still lingered when you opened up kitchen drawers etc. The next day I noticed that the house was not well stocked with the basics- paper towels, coffee, laundry soap. I called and a turnkey rep was there within 15 mins and delivered the items. I also noticed that a trash can by the entry door had not been emptied and stunk horribly. Again the turnkey rep came by and emptied it. Our second day there we got home at dusk. By the entry door as you come around the corner is a cutout for the basement windows. It is about 3 feet long and 2 ft deep. It sticks out about 18 inches from the house. As my daughter came around the corner (she was probably not paying attn) she fell in. She started screaming and crying. Luckily, only some scuffed fingers and was more scared then hurt. I would suggest a small fence around this and motion sensor lights to prevent this from happening again to other kids. Also, it could be a liability issue. As we had been on vacation for 7-8 days prior to arriving at this rental; we were running out of clothes. I decided to go down into the basement and do a load of laundry. I noticed a small puddle on the floor by the washing machine. I really didn't give it a second thought. I tossed our clothes in there and went off on our day. When I came back the puddle had grown. We did a couple more loads and the puddle was getting bigger and bigger. A pump had gone out. Overall, a thumbs down would not recommend this property.

THOMAS T. Cape Cod is a great place to spend some time. This property is located on a somewhat private beach on bay. The property is really old and not maintained very well but location makes stay enjoyable

We loved boat watching from the beautiful screened in porch and outdoor seating. The house is in a very peaceful, secluded area that makes the stay restful. The house is amazing with fun antiques and has lots of character. It could use some work on the smell (old house smell, moth balls) and more comfortable furniture and beds though. Would not recommend as a toddler friendly house but can be good for older kids.

Daniel S. This old-style cottage is located in a relatively remote and secluded location. It is an old-style cottage which is attracrteive if you want to get away from everything... we spent a wonderful day on Martha’s Vineyard and there are amazing places to explore from this cottage. Turnkey were very attentive to our needs and questions
