Whimstay was featured in Rental Scale Up’s latest article on our company’s expansion and the rise of last minute bookings!
Whimstay–the leading platform for last-minute vacation rental bookings–has raised $10m in equity financing to develop new products and features. These include enhancing the search experience, guest engagement, dynamic pricing, flexibility, loyalty programs, and ancillary fintech products. The aim is to increase bookings for property managers during periods of lower occupancy rates. The platform offers property owners and managers an opportunity to increase their occupancy rates and revenue by tapping into the growing demand for last-minute bookings.
According to a Transparent study, last-minute bookings account for 37% of all bookings worldwide. Last-minute bookings tend to have lower average daily rates (ADRs) and shorter average stays. They represent a significant proportion of occupancy for property managers, particularly in urban markets or regions like Latin America. Individual property owners looking to list on Whimstay can do so through a collaboration with RedAwning, a vacation rental marketing and reservation platform.
Compared to larger, less user-friendly channels, the platform offers more control over the customer experience, robust reporting, and reconciliation. In addition, Whimstay aims to expand services, such as loyalty and rewards programs and ancillary fintech products and will benefit from its recent integration with Google Vacation Rentals.
