Skift Spotlights Whimstay’s $10 Million Raise for Last-Minute Vacation Rental Bookings

Whimstay, the leader in last minute vacation rentals, was spotlighted in Skift’s article on top travel tech startups have raised a total of $29m in funding.

Here are the four travel tech startups have raised a total of $29m in funding.

Thynk, which provides software for hotel operations, secured $13m in a series A funding round led by Singular. The Brussels-based firm, whose products simplify and automate sales, operations and data management, will use the money to bolster its software and expand internationally.

Whimstay, a platform for last-minute vacation rentals, raised $10m from unnamed investors. Bookings on the San Francisco-based startup are up seven times year on year, and the funding will go toward key hires and new product development.

SmartRyde, a Tokyo-based platform offering connections to over 700 airports, raised $3.4m in a series A+ round led by NVenture Capital.

Lovetovisit.com, a UK-based booking site for events and attractions, raised $2.6m, including $1.9m from angel and corporate investors such as Zip World. The platform aims to launch in the UAE and US this year and offers operators the ability to digitize ticket sales.

Travelio, a platform for short-term and long-term apartment rentals in Indonesia, has raised an undisclosed series C funding round.

Meanwhile, Missafir, a platform for short-term and long-term home rentals based in Turkey, secured an undisclosed pre-series A round of investment led by local real estate developer Ege Yapı, raising money at a $26m valuation.
